How to join Air Force Academy of IAF AFA Dundigal training academy provides training for future pilots and officers of Indian Air Force and other services. 
Air Force Academy (AFA) Dundigal is one of the most important training academies of Air Force. All pilots of IAF's flying branch have to undergo training at AFA and pass out successfully from AFA in order to become pilot officers in IAF.

All candidates who are selected for officer posts in Indian Air Force need to undergo training at AFA Dundigal. There are many ways to join Air Force Academy.

Ways to join Air Force Academy

Each and every officer of Indian Air Force need to undergo basic training at Air Force Academy. For officers selected for Flying branch of IAF, extensive training is provided at AFA Dundigal. Let us see different type of entries and courses through which a candidate can join Air Force Academy.

How to join AFA through NDA NA examination

NDA NA exam of UPSC is the gateway for becoming an officer in all the three Indian Armed Forces. 10+2 passed candidates may apply for NDA NA exam and become officers in IAF, Indian Army and Indian Navy. Candidates need to choose Air Force as first choice while applying for NDA in order to join Air Force Academy. Basic training of three years is given at National Defence Academy. After three year NDA training, candidates who are selected for Flying branch of Indian Air Force will go to one year training at Air Force Academy Dundigal.   Ways to join Air Force Academy of IAF  

Joining Air Force Academy through CDS examination

After NDA NA exam, candidates will have two more ways to join Air Force Academy. One is through CDS examination and second option is AFCAT exam. CDS exam is held by UPSC for graduates. Candidates need to pass CDS written exam and get recommended by SSB interview for Air Force. All candidates who clear CDS exam for IAF will be given training at Indian Air Force Academy Dundigal.

Getting admission in AFA through Air Force Common Admission Test

AFCAT is the only exam which is being conducted by Indian Air Force to recruit officers. Through AFCAT exam candidates can join Air Force Academy. There are many courses offered through AFCAT i.e., Technical courses (AEC/SSC), Administrative courses (GDOC/SSC), flying courses Flying (Pilot)/SSC and various other courses. All candidates who get recommended by Air Force Selection Boards will be joining Air Force Academy for basic training.   So go on and join Air Force Academy Dundigal and live your dreams.
