Indian Air Force lost Mig-29 UPG aircraft in a crash near Jalandhar city of Punjab

On the morning hours of 08 May 20, Indian Air Force has lost another Mig-29 Upgraded aircraft as the aircraft has developed a technical snag during a routine training sortie. The crashed aircraft was located few kilometers away from Jalandhar city of Punjab in India.

One good news about the Mig-29 UPG aircraft crash of IAF is that the pilot of crashed aircraft has landed safely as he had ejected from the aircraft just in time. Indian Air Force has released the photographs on its official Facebook page where the ejected pilot can be seen getting first aid from local medicos.

Also, there are few videos from the aircraft crash site which are doing rounds on social media. From these videos, one can see the flames coming out of the crashed IAF Mig-29 aircraft and also one video is showing how villagers are assisting the ejected pilot. It is very overwhelming to see that the locals of Jalandhar holding the towels so that the pilot can stay in the shade. Soon local medicos arrive at the spot and provided the first aid to the pilot.

After a while, the pilot was whisked away by the IAF officials in a helicopter to the nearby airbase from where the sortie was planned.

A court of inquiry has been ordered as per the official statement given by Press Information Bureau. The court of inquiry will assess the reasons of the aircraft crash.
