Two more Army personnel test positive for Corona COVID-19 virus

The first case of Corona virus positive case among Indian Army personnel had come into the limelight early in this month as one soldier in Ladakh region tested positive for COVID-19. He had got the virus transmitted from his father who had recently returned from abroad.

Worries of Indian Army had increased as two more positive cases were traced in which one Colonel rank officer and one Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) rank officer had been infected with Corona (Covid 19) virus.

Three positive cases of Corona virus in Indian Army

With this, total three personnel of Indian Army have been tested positive for Corona virus infection.

1. One soldier in Ladakh
2. One Colonel in Kolkata
3. One JCO in Dehradun

Both the Colonel and JCO who had been infected with COVID 19 have travelled to Delhi in connection with Indian Army's official work. As they had symptoms of Corona virus, their samples were tested where results came to be positive. Presently both officers are kept in quarantine in Army hospitals and contact tracing is being carried out for all people who got in contact within two weeks.

Indian Army which has roughly 13 lakh personnel is taking all possible measures to contain the virus as it would be very difficult to control in the later stage.

All the three personnel are healthy as of now and they are undergoing treatment in the Indian Army hospital.

There have been no positive case reported by Indian Air Force and Indian Navy till now.
